About this deal

Evelyn has been so preoccupied that she has been living completely blind to an unhappy marriage with the always upbeat and optimistic Waymond (Ke Huy Quan of The Goonies and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom fame). I think these issues are mostly on older films which were filmed before 4K (or even blu ray) existed tho judging by above comments, while it's probably generally accurate it's not universally so. They do delve into many of the subtle details in a not particularly subtle film, many of which aren’t necessarily obvious on a first viewing (Including a rather obvious Douglas Adams joke that still might be easy to miss). Plenty of HD shows have only been released on DVD which just boggles my mind and other shows that received HD remasters and Blu-Ray releases round the world are still DVD only here which forced me to import. Teaming up with her alternate lives, the unlikely allies realize that they alone possess the power to protect the world from calamity, plunging them into the midst of an outlandish quest.

It’s a mind-bending trip through the multiverse that mixes comedy, science fiction, fantasy, martial arts, and family drama into a chaotic but still internally consistent whole. The specials are thankfully all on the UHD (but 1080p), and the 40 minute making of, which I watched today, is actually really good and gave me a newfound appreciation for the movie. The decline of optical discs perhaps or the lower spending power in the UK meaning people stayed with DVD. Now, having said all of that, Everything Everywhere All at Once is chaotic and most assuredly takes the road less traveled which could prove frustrating. In centering their plot around the day in the life of a dissatisfied Evelyn, they balance several genres, wildly creative visuals and deeply complex ideas into a harmoniously poignant, heart-warming portrait of one person's existential crisis.

The whole thing started after Kwan watched a double feature of Fight Club and The Matrix, which got him thinking about the concept of the multiverse, but the project didn’t pick up momentum until they had the idea to use that as the backdrop for a family drama. audit gets "interrupted" by Evelyn's growing awareness that other realities are beginning to intrude on hers. Genre fans in particular have sometimes struggled with multiracial (or multigender) casting, criticizing films that make even baby steps toward greater diversity.

Technical merits are first rate (especially some astounding audio), and the supplements very enjoyable. What pushed it over the threshold this week was that A24 re-released this movie with 8 minutes of outtakes, etc. Yet it would still be a mistake to dismiss the significance of the levels of cultural representation in Everything Everywhere All at Once. The Academy may have been willing to finally grant a bit of respectability to genre efforts, but the voting members still weren’t willing to consider them to be “actor’s films.

The rumble digs deep, flooding the room and shaking walls to showcase the available range – and it’s a lot of range. No, it’s due to the fact that the film deftly taps into the common human experience regardless of any specific genre elements or cultural details that it contains. At startup, the disc goes straight to a static menu screen with the usual options and music playing in the background. The absurdist fantasy drama verse-jumps to home theaters with an absurdly fantastic Dolby Atmos soundtrack that perfectly energizes and complements the wildly fanciful visuals. If asked what, exactly, Everything Everywhere All at Once is about, it’s a need to find solace in a chaotic existence.

Those details are generally just a bit more refined than on the Blu-ray, but it’s often difficult to tell. Seiple used a cornucopia of LUTs (Lookup Tables) and different lenses to create the distinctive look and feel of each of the multiverses, freely mixing spherical and anamorphic as needed: Atlas Orion, Hawk V-Lite, Scorpiolens, Canon K-35, Zeiss Super Speed, Zeiss Master Prime, and even a vintage Todd-AO lens.As for the disc, the image and sound is good but the 4k is only marginally better and might be too dark. Audacious fantasy-action farce from the makers of "Swiss Army Man" co-stars Ke Huy Quan, Stephanie Hsu, James Hong, and Jamie Lee Curtis. At the same time, her daughter Joy (Stephanie Hsu) is at the breaking point waiting for mother to accept her and her girlfriend Becky (Tallie Medel).
